Looking for Christmas Gift Ideas?

Gift ideas for the last minute shopper

Gift ideas are hard enough without having to be thought up at the last minute. It seems that every year, I have some last minute gift ideas to conjure up. Maybe it's the new co-worker or a party that my wife forgot to mention -- it happens every year.

What to do, what to do

It's not about being really creative with gift ideas, but just that you've put some thought into it. For example, if you're working with someone new, take the time to look at his or her desk -- do they need anything?

Not that Christmas is all about needs.

Work gift ideas can also include something like a plant for their desk (if they seem to have a green thumb already).

On a more personal note

We all love our parents, but it seems that gift ideas for them can be last minute as well. I've done it, you've done it.

Just admit it.

In this case, I've found that food is the perfect answer. No, you don't have to go to your local grocery store or gourmet chocolate shop. Quick and perfect gift ideas can be found at your favorite restaurant.

Gift cards from a place that you could go to together make great and simple last minute gifts.

And what about those ‘surprise' relatives?

It seems that each year brings someone else that gets engaged at the holidays. And inevitably, you feel that you're slighting this soon-to-be family member by not presenting them with a gift.

Don't fret -- gift ideas can be found.

Even if you have no idea about the status of the relationship, I've found that having gift ideas is a good way to cover yourself.

You can even bring a small gift of a wedding planning book or journal. Not only is it something that they can use, but it also reflects your love and acceptance of the new fiancé or fiancée.

If it's a pregnancy that's been announced, gift ideas like baby journals and parenting books are always appreciated.

It's the gift ideas that come from the heart that make the biggest impression. And the best part is that these gift ideas will seem as though you spent hours in the stores -- even though you haven't.
