What Are You Doing for Christmas Dinner?

Some Ideas For Making Christmas Dinner Easier

I know, Thanksgiving hasn't even arrived yet and I'm talking about Christmas dinner. How insane am I? Actually, not very. I'm thinking ahead of the game to make the holidays easier for you. If you're used to slaving over a hot stove during the holidays, here are some ideas that can make this year's kitchen time a lot less toilsome.

Pre-Cooked Meals

Many grocery stores offer pre-cooked holiday meal packages. You simply heat everything up in the oven and you're good to go. From turkey to prime rib, sweet potatoes to cherry pie, you can get everything you need for an amazing Christmas dinner, and you can do it at a pretty reasonable price.

Cater It

If you have some extra spending room in your budget this year, consider having Christmas dinner catered. When you combine the cost of groceries with the value of your time, you might be surprised to discover a catered Christmas meal is a lot more affordable than you think. Call around to local catering services and ask them what Christmas packages they have available. Catering businesses usually offer special Christmas packages.

Pot Luck

If you really want to make things easy but you don't want to pay to have a pre-cooked or catered Christmas dinner, cook the turkey or the Christmas ham and have everyone else bring a dish. Sides and desserts will be handled by friends and family, so you only have to worry about the main course. It will make your Christmas time much more enjoyable and your kitchen time much less stressful.

And remember, Christmas dinner is about time with family and friends. Don't fret too much over the meal. As long as your with those you hold near and dear, that's all that really matters.
