The Magic of Christmas Movies
Christmas movies can be an important part of the Christmas tradition
Hi everyone. Holiday Henry here. With Christmas fast approaching and today’s release of The Polar Express on DVD, I got to thinking about what an important party Christmas movies play in our Christmas traditions.
For most of us, every year we watch films and television shows with our families. I remember watching A Christmas Story with my family when I was younger. I also remember the great television specials with Frosty and Rudolph. How I loved those adorable characters.
We All Have To Grow Up Sometime
As we grow older, Frosty and Rudolph become distant memories, but we can reclaim those memories through our children and create new memories to cherish with today’s new movies.
If you’re looking for some holiday movies to watch with your family this year, I have a few that I personally recommend.
1. The Original Television Christmas Classics Box Set
Your old friends are back in this 4-DVD set. The set includes Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Santa Clause is Comin to Town, Frosty the Snowman, Frosty Returns and The Little Drummer Boy.
2. The Polar Express
It may not be a classic, but it’s bound to become one. Even if you don’t have kids, you should watch this one. It’s sure to bring out your inner child.
3. A Christmas Story
Of course no Christmas would be complete without A Christmas Story. The singsong chant of “Your gonna shoot your eye out” resonates through the holiday season. A hysterical classic for sure!
