The Annual Tradition of Christmas Favors

The Annual Presentation of Christmas Favors Is Sure To Be a Popular Christmas Tradition

Christmas traditions are an important part of the holiday season. Carrying out Christmas traditions that have been passed down for generations can provide you with insight into the lives of ancestors you never even met. Christmas traditions can complete the holiday season for many families, and Christmas favors are one of the best Christmas traditions around.

Christmas Favors

A few years ago I started the Christmas tradition of placing a favor at each guest’s place setting. My dinner guests have eagerly enjoyed this tradition ever since. I realized that word about my Christmas tradition spread rapidly too. I have had many individuals ask me about my highly-anticipated presentation of favors.

The purpose of the favor is to give guests a little something that they can take home after the day is over. It also gently shows them where to sit. If you’re interested in starting this Christmas tradition in your home, read some of my ideas below. You’re not limited to these ideas, they are merely suggestions. You can spend as little or as much money as you want to on favors, but give each favor your unique touch.

Ornaments

One favor that works well for this Christmas tradition is a personalized Christmas tree ornament. You can purchase Christmas balls and write each guest’s name on an ornament in a silver or gold glitter pen. Guests can then take their ornaments home to adorn their Christmas trees. Each year their ornament will remind them of the fun times they shared with you at Christmas.

Picture Frames

Another idea involves picture frames. Purchase holiday-themed picture frames and stencil each guest’s name onto their frame. You even can give guests a group picture at the end of the day to take home with them.

Favors for the Kids

For the kids, you can use a brown paper lunch bag and decorate the outside of it with Christmas stickers (think candy canes and Santa). Inside you can put an assortment of candy. You could also give Christmas coloring books and crayons.

You are certainly not limited to the above favor suggestions. Keep your eyes open year round. After Christmas is when you’ll be able to find huge discounts on holiday merchandise. Pick up discounted Christmas books at your local bookstore to use for next year’s favors. Your options are endless, and I urge you to try this idea this holiday season. This is one Christmas tradition your guests will look forward to year after year.
