Santa Makes House Calls

Arrange a Visit from Santa This Christmas

Do you remember when, as a child, getting something for Christmas was a simple as asking Santa Clause to bring it to you? Did you look forward to heading to the mall, just because you knew Santa would be there and you’d get the chance to have your photo taken with him? Did you try your very hardest to stay up ALL night long, hoping to catch a glimpse of the jolly old man in his sleigh? Although you may have outgrown those traditions, young children everywhere are still in love with dear old Saint Nick. If you want to make this Christmas one to remember, surprise someone by arranging a visit from Santa this year.

Fond Memories of Santa Clause

I fondly remember that when I was a child, I actually had a face-to-face encounter with Santa Clause at a family gathering. Every year, we would spend Christmas Eve at my aunt’s house. My grandmother lived there too, and I got to see my two cousins who were a much older than me, but always made sure I had fun. One Christmas, when I was about five years old, Santa himself showed up. This tradition used to be commonplace at Christmas, but it has steadily declined in recent years.

It was a most exciting time for me, and it is a magical moment I definitely plan to create for my own daughter one year. If you have kids, try arranging a visit from Santa this year. If you will be spending Christmas Eve at a friend or family member’s home, you might be able to arrange the visit there. If not, simply have Santa visit a week or so before the holidays in your own home.

You Don’t Really Have to Hire Santa

If you think having a personal visit from a professional Santa will cost hundreds of dollars, you’re probably right. However, you really don’t have to hire Santa to have him come visit for the holidays. Santa costumes can be purchased or rented from a variety of stores, so finding an affordable way to have Santa come over is definitely possible. If you have a neighbor or coworker dress up as Santa for you, make sure you reward them nicely for their efforts.

Depending on what day you have Santa visit, you might want to make arrangements for Santa to deliver gifts to your children. Simply wrap up one of the gifts you already purchased for each child and make sure Santa hand delivers them when he surprises your children.

This Christmas can be exciting and interesting if you revive the old tradition of a visit from Santa. A visit from Santa himself is sure to make Christmas magical and memorable this holiday season.
