Quick and Easy Homemade Christmas Ornaments

Use these ideas for homemade Christmas ornaments to liven up your Christmas tree

Who doesn't love homemade Christmas ornaments? You either love them because your precious children made them and you created wonderful memories in the process. Or you love to make them yourself. Either way, use these great ideas for Christmas ornaments to make.

Handmade Christmas Ornaments for Children

*Winter Wonderland at the FamilyFun website is a great ornament for children to make. This ornament has quite a few items you need to buy before you start your creation, but the items are inexpensive and easy to find.

What I like about Winter Wonderland, is that it's easy for little hands to make. Many handmade Christmas ornament ideas look great but are too difficult for kids. This one isn't and your kids will be proud of their creation when they finish.

Much like a snow globe, this ornament uses a clear plastic cup and you place a winter scene inside. Get creative and try different scenes or let your kids create their own.

*Dangling Snowman another adorable homemade Christmas ornament idea from FamilyFun is this Dangling Snowman. Using some foam, buttons and glue, you can make some really cute ornaments your kids will not only love but also have a great time making.

*Puzzle Piece Ornaments is one of the cutest ideas I've seen for kid's ornaments. If you have some old puzzles around the house that are missing one or two pieces, you're in luck and can make these ornaments for pennies. Let your kids have fun painting the puzzle pieces. Then, after they dry, help them shape them into tree, reindeer, candy canes, and snowflake shapes. Adorable!

Handmade Christmas ornaments for Adults

*Wrapping Paper Stars is a handmade Christmas ornament meant for kids but is best left to adults. Using these simple directions and by buying some pretty wrapping paper, you can create some tree-worthy ornaments.

*Holly Jolly Santa is jolly indeed! He's also cute and easy to make. With a clay face, wired ribbon beard, and a felt hat, he will make a great addition to your tree. These are easy enough to make, you could make a collection and give them to friends for small but thoughtful gifts. Or, use them as filler for your tree and create a Santa-themed tree.

*Angels Galore can fill your trees when you use these ideas for homemade angel ornaments. Here you have a choice of a country angel called Dizzy Izzy made with a wooden clothespin. She's simple to make but adds a homey feel to your tree.

If you like working with clay, try the Angelic Clay idea. This is a little more involved and it takes some experience to work with the clay but there's not a huge learning curve. These ornaments look professional and store-bought.

The Dancing Among the Stars angels give the appearance of intricate needlepoint - but they're not! These are simple to make with plastic canvas but add a special touch to your tree.

Go ahead. Have fun this Christmas either by yourself or creating great Christmas memories with your kids as you make these ornaments. Making homemade Christmas ornaments is a great way to start off the holiday season and your kids will have a blast... and so will you!
