Opening Presents on Christmas Morning

Unique ways to open presents on Christmas morning.

Some of our readers have asked us how they can lead their children to their Christmas presents without just having the presents under the tree. If the idea of putting presents under the tree is getting a bit boring for you too, try some of these unique ideas for Christmas morning.

Present Hunt

A present hunt can be loads of fun on Christmas morning. Hide the presents throughout the house (or outside too if you live in warmer climates) and have your children search for them. If you have more than one child, color code the presents and let the children know that if a present isn’t wrapped in their color, to leave it alone and not to say anything to the other children about where it’s at.

Let the Clues Lead the Way

If you want your kids to really work for their presents on Christmas morning, give this a try. Give each child a clue that will lead them to a specific place, then have another clue waiting there for them (with a small gift if you’d like). Each clue will lead them closer to the present until at last they finally reach it.

These are two really fun ways to open presents on Christmas morning and just imagine the look on your kids’ faces when they wake up and there are no presents under the tree!
