Decorating for Christmas Day

Setting the right ambiance for Christmas day.

Hi everyone. Noel here. Now that Christmas day is fast approaching, it’s time to start making your entertaining plans. If you’re not holding the holiday at your house, then you can just sit back and relax, but if you’re one of the lucky ones who gets to host this holiday season, you’d better be prepared.

If you’re hosting the holidays at your home this year, I have some great decorating and serving tips for you.

The Table

The table, above all else, must absolutely be perfect. That means no disposable paper table cloths. You must go with linen all the way. While place cards are not mandatory, they are nice and may avoid confusion when people start to seat themselves at the table (especially if there are parties who don’t get along). Make sure all of your place settings match and make sure the serving dishes match the place settings.

The Tree

Besides the table, the tree must also be perfect. Make sure that if you bought a live tree, it’s still looking good for the big day. If not, you might want to redecorate it to liven it up a bit or get a new tree altogether. I’ve known many people who go through two live trees each year because they buy a tree early in the season and then they buy a tree for Christmas day.

The Door

Your front door is the first thing that guests see when they arrive to your home and it should always have decoration on it. Whether it be a picture that your child drew or a wreath from the local garden center, make sure your front door shines light on the Christmas season.
