Countdown to Christmas with Advent Calendars
Advent calendars help kids countdown to Christmas.
Hi everyone. Faith here. This year, rather than buying them, why not make your own advent calendars with your family!
It was the cutest thing, my son and daughter both came home from school today with hand-made advent calendars. Remember those cute little paper chains we used to make as children? Well these paper chains serve as advent calendars.
Each paper ring in the chain counts as one day till Christmas. At the very top of the ring is a shape (my son had a bell, my daughter had a star) with a cute little poem about counting down to the days of Christmas. Each night you’re supposed to remove a link from the chain of the advent calendars and on Christmas day, you’re left with the shape so the kids know it’s Christmas. I think it’s a great craft idea.
To make your own paper chain advent calendars, you’ll want to create enough paper strips to count down the days till Christmas. Then cut out a shape for the top of the advent calendars to mark Christmas day. Create the paper chain from the paper strips and you have your very own paper chain advent calendars. I think it’s absolutely adorable.
