Christmas Stockings Your Family will Love
Learn how to stuff a great Christmas stocking
The Christmas stocking -- it's like the icing on the cake. First, the kids have the gifts left from Santa. Next, they get to open the gifts under the tree they have been sneak checking for weeks when they thought you weren't looking. But, after it has all said and done, there is that last little surprise -- the stocking filled with great Christmas stocking stuffers.
You don't want the stockings to be a disappointment. So how do you go about filling the kid's Christmas stockings with great stuff? Here are a few tips.
Size
You want to be able to cram as much as possible in the stockings. After all, it is no fun to have just one or two things in the stocking. When you are considering an item as a stocking stuffer, remember size. Try combining stuffers of different sizes. Choose one to two large items, several medium sized stuffers, and then as many as possible little goodies as you can fit.
Grins & Giggles
Think of fun stocking stuffers that will have them laughing: gag gifts, joke books, bacon soap, gummy army men, Mexican jumping beans, eyeball bandages, microphone shaped shower sponges, etc. Think of crazy ideas that will get the kids laughing and stuffers they will have fun with.
Tasty Treats
Be sure to add in some Christmas candies and chocolates in fun shapes and dispensers. If you're stuffing a stocking for a spouse, give grownup treats -- gourmet cheeses and sausages, hot sauces, and dark chocolates.
Gift Cards & Certificates
Don't forget the ever-popular gift cards and certificates. These can be actual cards to the movies, skating rink, go-carts, or fast food restaurants. You can also make up your own certificates the kids will think are fun.
For example, give a certificate to skip one room cleaning or kitchen duty. It could also be for one hour of extended bedtime, one home movie night, or one family game night. Be creative.
Wrap it Up!
If you have the time, make the Christmas stocking stuffers extra exciting by wrapping everything you put in the stockings. This prolongs the excitement and the kids love it.
There's no excuse to have boring stockings. Use these ideas and make the best Christmas stockings ever.
