5 Steps to Christmas Safety
Making sure you practice Christmas safety this holiday season.
Hi everyone; Larry here. Christmastime is a time for joy and a time for great decorations, but sometimes those decorations can be hazardous and Christmas safety should be at the forefront of our minds when we’re decorating our homes. I’m going to review some Christmas safety tips with you so we can be sure our friends are safe this holiday season.
1. Candles are popular around Christmastime. Candles should never be placed near your Christmas tree and you should never, ever leave a candle burning while unattended.
2. Christmas decorations can be easily burned. Make sure they’re not attached to lights that get hot or in the way of space heaters.
3. While we’re all stringing our homes with lights it’s easy to get carried away and overload electrical sockets. Make sure you don’t make this common mistake as it poses a serious fire hazard.
4. A good deal of Christmas fires start in the kitchen. Make sure you don’t leave the oven unattended.
5. Make sure all smoke and fire alarms are working properly. If you didn’t change your batteries when the clock changed (for those of you who practice daylight savings), change them now.
By taking these appropriate precautions, you’ll be two steps ahead this season when it comes to Christmas safety.
